Special Seattle Dinner Guests: “Causeplayers” Lucy & Miguel Capuchino

In 2021 Dent participated in the San Diego Comic-Con Shrine event (instigated by Denter Chris Morrow.) We hosted a Dent dinner celebrating “causeplayers.” Included were Lucy and Miguel Capuchino of Capuchino Cosplay in San Diego. Lucy and Miguel are internationally celebrated causeplayers who donate their time to make frequent hospital appearances supporting ill/injured children and to appear at fundraisers. They have supported organizations such as Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Ronald McDonald's House Charities, The American Cancer Society, St. Judes and Toys for Joy. The Capuchinos are considered to be among the most creative and accomplished costume creators in the world today.

We are excited to announce that Miguel and Lucy will be joining us (but not in costume this time…) at our Dent Dinner to be held in Bellevue WA on Nov. 4. Passport members can register here.

One of the things that sets Miguel and Lucy apart is their creative “mashups.” A mashup cosplay is when two different fandoms or domains are merged together into a single costume. Noteworthy in that style are the “Lord Captain America and Iron Lady” costumes, which won the “Best Group” award at a San Diego Comic-Con gathering in 2021. Their masquerade ball themed creation, has them cleverly imagining two Marvel heroes in refined and elegant period costuming.

Other examples of their mashup creations are a genderbend Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, a Rockabilly Han Solo and Princess Leia from Star Wars. They've also cosplayed as a grown up and married Charlie Brown and Lucy from the Peanuts comics.
