  • As a business strategist and coach for over 20 years, Dana helps multi-6-figure business owners get out of day-to-day operations and step fully into the role of CEO, achieving not only unprecedented business success, but more importantly, the joy they've been desperately missing.

They experience dramatic increases in revenue that continue to increase year over year, significantly fewer working hours leading to energetic rejuvenation, and the confidence to embrace being a true leader of their company.

In her customized one-one Catapult Immersion program, Dana

    * Blends proven exercises and practical techniques to rewire internal operating systems and shift beliefs about “how to run a business”, altering perspectives and redefining the role of CEO to fit their unique personality.

    * Pinpoints her clients personal ‘zone of genius’, leading to identifying positions that need filling, determining compensation packages, designing onboarding training - and then helping to hire so they can focus on the areas that are only able to be done by them.

    * Improves personal productivity by structuring weekly schedules around unique biorhythms and Introversion/Extroversion Ratios so that the flow of a client’s day reflects how they best work and think.

    * Digs deep into and demystifies the numbers to better align prices with the client’s perceived value, considering the profit needed for long-term operations, reinvestment, and growth.

    * Acts as a sounding board, providing accountability, encouragement, and kicks in the pants as her clients implement the action plan that catapults their business to wild success.

  • The world is becoming more complicated, uncertain, ambiguous and unpredictable. Pandemics, reorgs, politics, social change, competition, regulation, climate change, and resource constraints make performing even at yesterday’s level harder.

Leaders face constant whitewater, and many feel overwhelmed and personally unprepared to meet the challenges. Many are burnt out. Some have gotten tough feedback. Others find that familiar solutions aren’t working anymore.

I work with leaders today need to deepen their capacity to interpret complex situations, explore fresh approaches, and expand their personal growth and awareness. Each of us can gain perspective, learn skills, dive deeper, and redeploy what we already have. We can become better at navigating the rapids.

I serve mid- and senior-level leaders in business, non-profits, and government. I specialize in clients facing

    • Challenging relationships and conflict, underperforming teams, and emotional reactivity

    • Tough feedback or subpar results that warrant a new approach

    • Difficult questions or doubts about themselves and their work—who may feel different, isolated, or an outlier

I also support high-potential new leaders, individual contributors, and change agents (“covert leaders”).

I provide primarily one-on-one coaching. However, I also convene special peer coaching groups. For individual coaching, I require a minimum of ten sessions over three months—meeting bi-weekly. Some clients work with me for years. I employ several evidence-based individual assessments, including the Global Leadership Profile (GLP), the Leadership Circle Profile (LCP), and the EQ in Action Profile (emotional intelligence). Depending on the circumstances, the client and I meet with boss at outset to align on objectives and again at the end of engagement. I may also conduct 360 interviews to gather feedback.

With coaching, my clients learn to move fluidly between strategic, tactical and personal levels—revealing interpersonal, organizational and political patterns that ensnare them. They are more able to view the interplay of systemic forces and personal dynamics. As a result, they discover new, creative ways to navigate complex situations and produce superior results.

They grow their internal complexity to match the external complexity they face.

Clients report that after working with me, they experience:

    • Reduced stress and emotional reactivity—greater ease

    • New perspective that reveals surprising options and opportunities

    • Greater self-mastery and awareness of patterns and traps

    • More satisfying relationships

    • Higher-functioning teams

  • I serve leaders and senior managers of global technology corporations, technology startups, media and professional services companies, and non-profit institutions worldwide. I specialize in coaching senior managers and executives to increase their awareness of themselves as leaders within their organization and to improve their management and leadership abilities.

The results I produce is increased individual leadership impact on the business. This comes from specifically looking at how the leader is showing up in the organization in the context of the current business challenges, zeroing in on behaviors and perspectives, and building a repertoire of effective leadership behaviors.

The problems I solve start with essential leadership actions, for example: managing and developing senior leadership teams, scaling leadership to large-scale or complex challenges, influencing leaders across organizational boundaries and engaging your team to determine successful influence strategies and tactics, strengthening strategic thinking and strategic voice, change management and acting as an effective change agent, up-leveling executive presence and self-management, self-branding within your organization, building organizational capacity and mechanisms, leading innovation and disruptive thinking, driving agendas forward with clarity and focus, boosting effective communication.

The problems I solve also are intentional career transitions, onboarding into leadership positions, with focus on “the first 200 days” when taking on new roles or increased scale and scope, measuring and utilizing personal strengths (emotional intelligence) to be used more effectively in relationships across the organization, and collecting feedback for continued growth as a leader.

My clients report being able to do these things that they could not do as well before: solve thorny roadblocks to planning or strategy building, increased ability to use their leadership and strategic voice, more effectual management of direct reports, working a matrix organization with more precision and bearing, effective transition or taking charge when taking new roles, ability to advocate for career growth with senior management, influencing across the organization with more intent and effectiveness, broader repertoire of leadership skills to deploy at the right moment, building mechanisms that allow them to scale their leadership to larger and more complex business problems, developing and coaching direct reports with focus and accountability, and operating with more confidence in front of c-suite executives or boards.

My clients report they appreciate my practical focus, pacing, insight, systems thinking, and deep expertise.

How to reach out

Passport holders are each given four "Visas" each year: two 30-minute visas and one 1-hour visa. When you send an email to coaching at dentthefuture.com, take a few minutes to briefly describe what it is you'd like to talk about, and indicate which type of Visa you'd like to use. You can also express a preference for the coach you'd like to talk to, or you can leave it up to the coaches to determine who reaches out to you in return.

Your email might look like this:

The 30-minute Visas are a great opportunity to get to know a few of the coaches in the stable in order to get a sense for how coaching might help you in your work, or to see what kind of working relationship you might like to have with a coach.

The 1-hour Visas allow for longer conversations, and as a great pair make a wonderful opportunity to hear some advice and create a follow-up to check in a few weeks later.

Coaching in general is a great way to ground your thinking and set yourself up for success. In this limited format, you won't get a lot of the support and growth that is part of a regular engagement.

The concept behind the Dent Coaching Stable is to provide our community with the opportunity to bring an expert perspective to bear on some current challenge. It might be that you're having difficulty with a co-founder or an executive. It might be that you're weighing two important candidates for a big hire. It might be that you have a strategic choice to make about your business. It might be that you have been feeling disengaged from work.

Getting the most help from a coach is ultimately about allowing someone to help you grow. That takes being vulnerable, honest, and human. Dent's coaches provide assurances of privacy and confidentiality through the terms of Dent Passport, and are members of our community themselves.
